Cocky and Funny:
How It Works and Why!
You've probably heard of Cocky and Funny if you've been exploring dating advice that really works with women.
Though David DeAngelo is credited as the 'founder' of Cocky and Funny, who really knows how long it's been around -- for you can notice James Bond using it, along with countless other 'masculine archetypes' from the beginning of film and television history.
Just the other day I was watching an episode of the popular 60s television show Hawaii Five-O.
When a nurse asked Steve McGarrett:
"You look terrible. When was the last time you looked in the mirror?"
He replied cockily with:
"I only look in the mirror when I shave... and I do that jogging," as he turned to carry on with his business at hand.
You just can't help but laugh at such an absurd reply. Why is that?
But was he doing this to attract her as some 'dating experts' advise... or was there another motive behind his response?
If he had another reason, what is the real motive behind a funny and cocky attitude displayed by all these strong-willed characters?
The Truth about Cocky and Funny Revealed
If you pay attention to masculine characters depicted in movies such as John Wayne or Clint Eastwood, you'll notice that they make these cocky remarks whenever someone treats them in an unacceptable way.
So what is the essence of Cocky Funny?
Really, it's a humorous method of thinking for yourself and then communicating that you won't alter with women or other people's negative or limiting suggestions towards you.
And since this is a very attractive quality in a man, it seems some dating experts have realized this and then turned it into a 'technique' for attracting women, which is great...
... but if you don't fully understand it, it can be less than helpful.
Used as a 'technique' to attract women rather than as an attitude towards yourself and Life, I think, can create some problems in the process.
Here's what you need to know...
When and Why Cocky Funny Fails
If there's one 'technique' for interacting and attracting women that you're bound to fall on your face with numerous times before your succeed, it's Cocky and Funny.
Used without conviction, women will perceive you as a loser or faker.
Applied aggressively and without noticing the response you're truly getting, women will perceive you as an a-hole.
But the thing is, in both of these cases, the motivation to be funny and cocky is not to think for yourself and establish your boundaries...
... it's to impress a woman or to get a response you're expecting.
Ultimately, it becomes about approval-seeking and trying to 'buy' a woman's interest or affection -- which is the exact opposite of what Cocky Funny is all about.
That's when and why it fails.
So then, when and why does it succeed?
The Real Reason to Be Cocky and Funny
Since Cocky and Funny is probably the best form of protection you can use to guard yourself from negative or controlling suggestions, it should be reserved for moments like that.
And with women, it's going to happen -- sooner or later.
Like McGarrett, when the nurse suggested he was ill and looked in rough shape, used when it applies to the situation has the best -- and more attractive effect.
The reason Cocky and Funny is so powerful is because it allows you to assert yourself whenever a woman tries to manipulate or control you.
And it lets you do this in not only a fun, but in a non-judgmental and non-resenting kind of way.
And while a woman is laughing at your unexpected response, she feels reassured by that fact that not only do you think for yourself, you don't lose your cool when she crosses a line with you.
It reveals composure, confidence -- and compassion.
Women are attracted to men who have backbone, think for themselves, and refuse to be manipulated by knowing how to deal with criticism and disapproval -- yet don't blame women for trying.
We can't help but respect people who refuse to let even us take advantage of them. It has a magnetizing, almost hypnotic effect.
The real reason to be Cocky and Funny is not to attract women -- that's just the BENEFIT. It's to think for yourself and to communicate that you make your own decisions in life...
... the most attractive quality in a man!
